i mostly play fully quartertone electric guitars, and i learned on a "tourist oud" that had bad friction pegs. this electric-acoustic oud is really really great! i wanted geared tuners and a smaller bowl. it's far easier to get it to hold tune. it is great to record and amplify with the pickup.
